#TeamTuesday: Meet the Staff – Anitta Conlon

When did you start working at ProComm?

March 18,1999

When I’m not at work, I spend my time____?

I walk my dogs A LOT.  I also like to listen to live music at our local breweries, cook healthy casseroles, work in my yard, make jewelry and volunteer with animal charities…I’ve built fences for Chain-free Asheville for the last 8 years, and I also do transports of shelter dogs.   I’m also a huge fan of The Pittsburgh Penguins-Stanley Cup Champs, baby!

Favorite concert(s) you’ve attended?

Recently –  Foreigner.  My first concert was Kenny Rogers.  I went with my Mom and we had matching embroidered pocket jeans and concert t-shirts.

Favorite album or recording artists?

My favorite song is “Vienna” by Billy Joel.  The lyrics really speak to me.

Favorite Movies/TV?

Remember the Titans /John Wick/The Equalizer/The Incredibles / Anything on Food Network / The Walking Dead /Survivor (yes, I still watch it) / Law & Order (new and reruns).

Favorite Books/magazines?

My favorites book is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski.  I also liked The Goldfinch.  I’m a big Stephen King/ Dean Koontz fan.  I subscribe to Food Network Magazine…for the pictures.

What kinds of pets do you have?

I have two dogs.  Sally Jane is 6 years-old and a black Lab/Pit mix.  She likes to stalk squirrels, rabbits & wild turkeys.  Jackson is a Jack Russell and is 11 years old.  I can’t say the word b-a-l-l in front of him.  He likes to hunt the lizards around my house.

What is one of your favorite vacations you’ve taken?

I’ve been to Jamaica a few times.  The snorkeling and people are the real attraction there.  I really like Charleston for the food and architecture.

If we looked in your refrigerator, what would we find?

Cheese, vodka and kale.

What was your first car?

1977 white 4-door Chevy Chevette.  I called it the zit.

If you could only travel to one more country, which country would you choose?

Instead of what country, I really want to choose a mode of transportation.  I really want to take a long train ride somewhere.  I want to get my own room and a big window that I can watch as the countryside goes whizzing past.  I will get lulled to sleep by the constant clacking of the wheels and wake up in a completely different place.
